Frequently treated pain: orthopaedic edition

At Pelvico, we focus a lot on the pelvic floor and pelvic health. I't’s an area in which we’ve done specialized training to be able to treat and this care can’t be received everywhere! We don’t, however, want to forget about the other areas of the body that we see frequently in both our pelvic health and non-pelvic health clients.

WRISTS

There are a few frequent fliers in this group, including those new to Crossfit/ barbell work, new parents, and during pregnancy.

Common Interventions: education, exercise, manual therapy, massage, bracing PRN

HIPS

Hip pain is seen in a spectrum of people both young and old. It is also high in the pregnant (32.1 %) and post-partum (38%) populations.

Common Interventions: education, exercise, dry needling (IMS/ acupuncture), mobilizations, massage

MID BACK

The mid back (thoracic spine) is an area many people, especially those with more sedentary work, have pain or stiffness. This can also be a complaint of those who chest feed or carry littles for long periods of time.

Common interventions: education, exercise, soft tissue techniques, dry needling, manipulation/ mobilization, taping

FEET

Often pain in the feet is seen with a sudden change in activity (increase or lack thereof), change in weight, or change in footwear.

LOW BACK

No shocker here! Low back pain continues to plague a large % of people. The good news- even persistent lower back pain can be managed with the right education and support!
