Amélie Therrien (she/her)

MScPT, BSc
(Physiotherapist)

Amélie completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University and her Bachelor in Kinesiology from Université de Moncton.

Originally from Dartmouth, she grew up involved in a variety of sports, including soccer, volleyball, softball, and competitive gymnastics.

She’s travelled across many different countries with her family, allowing her to discover a variety of cultures, religions, and languages. Through these trips, she received an international education, where she was exposed to extreme poverty and saw how medical care was limited. Those experiences sparked her interest and motivation for a career as a physiotherapist.

While attending Université de Moncton, she completed her Level I CrossFit training and worked as a CrossFit instructor, on top of becoming a boot camp coach. Since graduating with her Masters in Physiotherapy, she has worked in private orthopedics in Truro, NS. She also completed her post-graduate training in the treatment of female urinary incontinence and is continuing her education to pursue a career in pelvic health physiotherapy. A forever student, she is constantly learning new skills to incorporate into her treatments to better support her patient’s rehabilitation outcomes.

She is a passionate physiotherapist who believes in providing quality care with a one-on-one approach through exercise prescription and patient education. She encourages patients to take an active part in their rehabilitation process and strives to deliver individualized evidence-based care. She loves having the ability to help people return to their lives empowered with knowledge and being able to participate in all the activities that are most important to them.

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, going to the beach, hiking with her dog, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
